Admirals OF THE FLEET

Listed below are the names of the men who reached the rank of Admiral of
the Fleet between the years of 1904 and 1945. The ranks listed here are
the highest recorded for this time period. The list has been compiled primarily
from the ADM 196 series of documents which The
National Archives has kindly allowed me to access. I am still in the
process of completing the four rank lists so, if there is someone you expect
to see here but don't, you may find them on one of the other rank pages
which you can access from 'Flag Officers' on the menu bar above. Also, as
I complete the lists, someone who used to be here may no longer be listed
having been transferred to one of the other ranks as further information
about the highest rank they held came to light.
The rank flags in the columns to the right indicate the extent of information
available on each individual. At this stage only basic information is available
on most officers. I do have images of the Service Records and Captain's
Confidential Reports for the majority of officers now so, if there is someone
you are particularly interested in for whom only basic information is held
on site do please contact me.
