| Family background |
The family background is Swedish under the name FOCK, a Swedish-Finnish
noble family, from Westphalia. They lived in Livonia in the 16th century
and were naturalised in Weden 1651. One branch was raised to Baron (friherre)
in 1719, but deased with the founder in 1729. Another was raised to Baron
in 1778, and a third in 1815. One of the family branches was, in 1818,
introduced to the Finnish House of Lords (Riddarhuset). One member of
the familiy, who became baron in 1778 went to England and became an English
subject in 1789. His branch is still alive (1908) under the name de Robeck. |
